Windows 10: I messed up while changing the defualt installation folder in the registration.

C:\WINDOWS\regedit.exe

The file name directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.


this error message pops up with every approach ive taken so far.


1. regedit in run

2. resetting / reinstalling windows

3. trying to install any program

4. Formatting via disc

5. Formatting etc

6. using command prompt approaches

7. tried creating another user account but it wont let me it errors out.


There's a few more things I've tried to sadly have not worked and well I'm thinking of chucking this hard drive and just buying a new one, that's where I'm at on the frustration meter lol.


How do I fix something if I cant even get to the problem to fix it.


its a fresh install say about 3 days after updating to windows pro 10 from windows home 10. All in all it is my fault I could've of avoided this, but it is what it is and I'm paying for it now. It was working fine until I tried to change the default installation file from C to E and most likely I messed it up right there hands down. Im not sure what else I could add besides I can still browse the internet just fine its just I cant install any programs or games.

Change Folder Icon in Windows 10


I just acquired a new laptop running Windows 10 and am trying to change the icons of the folders in the StartUp "Program" folder so that they would stand out a little better. I used my admin account and followed all the steps listed above, but when I clicked on "Apply", nothing happened. The same basic windows folder icon remained attached to the folder. I also tried to go into Properties and capitalize some of the folder names, but that didn't work either. Looks like something is protecting them, but I cannot figure out what it is much less how to get around this blockage, Any suggestions?

 

ATI Driver install problems

Hi!

There seems to be a kind of a mess after deletion of your current driver.
Have you tried step-by-step drivers update procedure including Driver Sweeper, deleting Prefetch and Temp folders, etc?
