Windows 10: I need a lotta help with my Toshiba Satellite.

Greetings, all. My Toshiba Satellite has been infested with a lot of viruses and I need to know how to restore to factory settings. I have a time getting it to boot up now, and I have tried the hold 0 during start up trick. I tried taking it back to a system restore point but it would appear that has been deleted. I don't have a drive, disc, or anything and quite frankly, I'm scared to plug anything in due to the viruses. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium. If you all could help, I would be more than grateful. Have you hidden the update? If so, how?

Have you tried an in-place upgrade repair? (may or may not help)

I never suggested this would be easy, and did say identification requires detailed technical analysis which can be time consuming- only a couple of members are willing to devote the time needed.

@Tekkie Boy may be able to help with detailed log diagnosis.

And of course, I have to say in passing that running an O/S not formally supported for your "old Toshiba Satellite" (model?) is entirely at your own risk.

OK, so it's not browser-specific, but it seems to happen only when you are downloading. That suggests it's related to your Wi-Fi driver, as it was for this thread....

According to Toshiba support you may have either Realtec or Atheros wireless. Which do you have? The latest drivers they list for your model are Win 8.1 for both types. If you put your serial number in here it should tell you the specific type appropriate for your machine.

You may be able to use the Win 8.1 drivers.

You may have had had a driver update recently, it may be that rolling back to the previous driver will help.

My Toshiba L750-16L has Atheros Wi-Fi and works perfectly with the Microsoft-supplied driver.

 

How to get into safe mode on Toshiba satellite

Does anyone know how to get into safe mode on a toshiba satellite. Black/blue screen with solid cursor after creator update fail. F8 is disabled by default in windows 10, so please do not suggest anything that requires win 10 to be working.
