Windows 10: I need help backing up my files — reinstalling Windows 10.

So I’ve downloaded plenty of torrents from several months ago. And my computer is starting to shit on me. I’ve made several posts about this, when I log onto another user. There isn’t lag, but on my current one. There is lag present. I’m not certain of its cause, but it’s either an ant invasion (seen some ants nearby weeks ago, opened up PC Case. No signs of ants), virus infection (from torrents, already removed the viruses), dried up CPU Paste, or maybe I haven’t noticed that my PC is clogged up with files. Just to be sure, I wanna do a clean reinstall of Windows 10. I have a 6TB HDD I got few days ago and have never used/plugged it in, IF my PC is infected (hopefully not), I do not want the HDD to be infected as well. Not sure if that is a thing but I have heard it.

And now to the question, how do I backup my files? Should I plug it in now? Do I need to backup the installers, torrents? Give me a list of things on what I should exclude. And what option should I choose; delete the personal files or no? I apologize for looking naive, I have no past experience with backing up data. That’s all, thanks a bunch. Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Reinstalling Windows 10 to sell a PC - is the 'Remove everything' option enough?

Restore factory settings do list Removes your personal files, apps and settings, and reinstalls the version of Windows that came on this PC.

So if this isn't true well than just erase the drive and install a clean Windows 10 with all the drivers u need but why should it be true

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
