Windows 10: I need help desperatly, I want to download steam/discord but my device wont switch out of S...

No matter what I do, restarting wuausev, updating everything, restarting my computer, every solution I try does nothing and its starting to greatly upset/irritate me.

Steam wont launch, steampowered hasn't been much help

My steam wont open, using vista 64. I run the exe and it just sits in the processes not oening. They have a list of progams that may cause conflicts. I sent them my msinfo32 and they said to disable the following:

Avast!
Alcohol 120%
Packet Tracer
PowerISO

These I have all had installed alongside steam before with no problems. I turned off alcohols virtual drive, avast on access protection and uninstalled the other 2 with no luck. Any suggestions?

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
2. Select or click Ease of Access.
3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
5. Check if issue is resolved.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

How do I change the default installation path for my games?

Games are installed to the following folder by default:
C:\Program Files\Steam (x86)\SteamApps\Common
You can create an alternate location on any drive, which you can choose in the future when installing games.

1. Navigate to your Steam client 'Settings' menu.
2. Select 'Steam Library Folders' from the 'Downloads' tab.
   
   
   
3. From here, you can view your default installation path, as well as creating a new path by selecting 'Add Library Folder'.
   
   
   
4. Once you have created the new path, all future installations can be installed there.
