Please answer the questions below:

• How did you enable FIPS?
• Did you enable FIPS from the router page?

Please let us know if you have followed the steps mention by Jitendra Kushwaha in the TechNet link which you have sent.

I request you to follow the steps and disable the FIPS and try to connect to the network after restarting the device.

Can't Connect to WiFi - FIPS Mistakenly Enabled

Hi - I stupidly enabled FIPS without fully understanding what it was and it has eliminated my ability to connect to the WIFI connection I was previously using. I am not a computer genius and only know how to turn it off by following the same path I went
through to turn it on - by choosing advanced settings within my wifi network connection, but without connecting, I obviously can't get to that path. How do I disable FIPS if I'm no longer able to connect to the WIFI connection to access the advanced settings??

 

Should FIPS be enabled in Windows 7 ?

Will FIPS, if enabled, cause browsing issues or other issues?

Should it be used?

Microsoft site tells what it is but does not go into detail about possible conflicts, etc...


I was looking at Wireless Network Properties/Advanced tab/settings when I saw a box to enable FIPS...did not want to try without knowing more.
