Windows 10: I need help! My laptop will randomly crash when I open Stremio and stream a movie.

The problem started today. My computer will randomly crash while staying powered on. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is at all. This has happened to me several times now. The only thing is that it happens only when I open Stremio and start watching something.I have a Dell Precision 7670 and Windows 11 Pro. When the crash happens I get a blue background and a warning that the windows could not load. Then it just crashes or enters BIOS, then I have tried resolving this problem in BIOS, but nothing helped. I have also used the Dell SupportAssist app, but nothing changed. I've tried&nb

Can't download the movie I purchased for rental.

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to download rented movies offline and check if that helps.

Steps:

1. Select the movie you want to rent and click on
   rent option.
2. Login using Microsoft account.
3. Once you have signed in, you will have two option
   to stream or download movies to this device to watch offline.
4. Select download movies to this device to watch offline and click on next.
5. After Choosing the Next option and you will be asked for the payment option.
6. Once the payment it done, open Movies & TV application to download the movie.

You will be able to watch the movie offline from
Movies and TV application. When you rent, the viewing period is 14 days from the time of your order or 24-48 hours from the time you start to watch (depending on the content you select), whichever comes first.



If you still facing issues downloading the movies after following the above steps. I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below, to fix issues with Microsoft store.



Steps:

• 1. Open store application on your pc.
  2. Click on the ellipses on right top corner of the screen.
  3. Logout and login back.

• What happens when you try to stream movies?

Movies & TV App Opens then shutsdown

Hi Jeff,

I have experienced the same issue just yesterday. And now it is "resolved".

1st, a possible "solution":

• Try and play a trailer from the Store app. This will trigger Movies & TV app, and hopefully the application will stay up/not crash when the trailer start playing. If all goes well, then try using the app normally.
• Restart the app, and if you have any "download" error, don't restart it, just x-click it away.

How it occurred:

• I purchased a movie, and for the first time, I clicked on the Download button instead of just streaming it. The app shut down after a short while.

Errors:

• When starting the Movies & TV app it will shut-down after some few seconds, regardless if it's triggered from the Movie Store or if it's started directly. Leaving no time to go into settings etc.

Troubleshooting:

• I tried all the solutions mentioned and referred to in this discussion.

Assessment:

• I think the crash/sudden shut-down of the app occurs because something went wrong during caching or downloading a movie.
• As such, the "solution" I've described above may also be irrelevant; it maybe that the download I started has timed-out and thus resolved the problem by itself. Or that emptying the temp folders (also mentioned in this discussion) may have forced the download
  to reset/stop.

Annoying glitch, but still love how now can easily rent/purchase movies on MS platform.
