  2. Firefox Tip, transferring profiles from a old pc

If you are coming from a old pc and need to transfer your old profiles try this.

    Go to your old pc

Press Windows + R to open the run command

    type%appdata%

    Go to the mozilla folder

    Click Firefox

    and Profiles

Copy the folder(s) if you have more than one folder

Make a folder on the desktop. Paste on Desktop in the folder for example using control v

To add those profiles to a new pc

Paste the profiles you copied from the old pc on a thumb drive/external hard drive

    Once that is done

    Install firefox as normal

To transfer the new profiles do these steps

There's many different methods but this easier

Press Windows + R to open the run command

    Type firefox (or firefox.exe) -p

    You see choose user profile

There is a default folder. Leave this be
    Click create profile
Make a name if you want
    Click choose folder
There should be the default folder only
Find the folder you created on the desktop
And paste it in that folder
Once complete, you see all data intact. You may have to key in the passwords again on newer firefox.

    Hope this helps

If this is in the wrong section, feel free to move

Question about transfering old user profile to new.

Before I make a mess of things, I thought I had better ask. This all started because I like to use Internet Explorer. It simply would not load. I believe I tried every fix on the web. One of the suggestions was to create a new User Profile. I did that and now Internet Explorer is working. My question is about moving the AppData folder over. Apparently I will have to reinstall all of my apps and programs in this new profile. Is there anything I need to know before I transfer AppData over. I hope that after I transfer all these folders over I will still have Internet Explorer. I guess I will have to check on it as I move things over. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

  4. I need help to transfer all my Appdata and content from my old Windows profile corrupted...

%appdata% on Failed Drive | Move Thunderbird Profile to New Drive

I have found some discussions on this but none are very clear.

It seems that the only way to access a profile on the old drive is through %appdata% from the Run menu.

The run then %appdata% works on my current machine.

But I have not been able to figure out how to search for %appdata%
in the old drive from the new drive.

Maybe there is some way to do this from the command line?

Any tips for making the transfers?

    Thanks for any suggestions.
