Transfer Win 10 Pro Licence to a new Win 10 Home PC

I bought a Laptop with Win 7 in July 2012.

In January, 2013, I bought a Win 8 Pro licence through the promotion that was running at the time.

I have since update the original Win 7 PC, to Win 8 Pro, to Win 10 Pro and it now is running Win 10 update 1903.

I bought a new laptop with Win 10 Home this week. I will be retiring the original Laptop purchased in 2012.

Can I transfer my Win 10 Pro licence on the retired laptop to the new Laptop ?

I am getting mixed answers from the Sales people.

 

Education vs Pro education - WIN 10

My friend needs my help to format some computers at a new school.

The school already has office 365 educational licese.

I just downloaded WIN 10 ISO. I found there are two version one called education and other Pro education. What are the difference please?

Which version can I use to join the computers to their WIN 2016 server (DC)?

Also, I would like to know if Microsoft is offering the education version for free like O365 or I have to pay per license .

Last thing, I would like to ask if there is any difference between WIN 10 Pro education and WIN 10 Pro please.

Transfer a Win 10 Pro licence to Win 11 on a virtual computer

I have Windows 10 Pro licence (retail, not OEM) on an old computer that does not meet requirements for upgrade to Win 11. The licence is linked to my Microsoft account.

I plan to discard the old computer and use the licence for a new virtual Windows machine. I want to utilize a free upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. The new virtual machine will be a fresh start, no transfer of stuff from the old computer.

I did a research about how to proceed, but still have two questions. My findings and questions:

1. The license is linked to my Microsoft account, which should allow me to install Windows in a virtual machine and activate it using the Activation troubleshooter. Is that correct?

2. Should I install Windows 10 Pro in the virtual machine, activate it and than upgrade to Windows 11 Pro? Or is it possible to install Windows 11 Pro right away and activate it using the Windows 10 Pro license?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
