Windows 10: I need help using my windows key on a new pc build and removing this key from an old pc...

I had someone from microsoft before help me on this exact issue before he helped me resolve via cmd command prompt

Help installing windows on new PC with old key

Hello,

I bought a Windows 7 license 2012 for my then new PC. I have upgraded that license for free to windows 10. Now i have bought a new PC, deactivated the key on my old PC and installed Windows 10 on my new PC successfully. However, the license is not activated and i can't get it activated. Any help on what to do?

I've follow many guides online with no success *Sad

Windows 10 Product Key(New PC)

Hi I built a new computer recently and I kept my OS drive from my old build. It wasn't activated due to the motherboard change so I used my student windows key. I didn't use the student key previously on my old build. Eventually I want to get an
OS drive on my old PC while use my new one. Can I still use my old Windows 10 Home key on my old PC? I did the upgrade to student without thinking of it deleting my old OS build. Also, the student OS build is only for one PC. Is it still possible to access
that old key on put it back on my old PC?

My old PC and new PC are both connected to the same MS account.

Even though both PCs are connected to the same MS account?

Under "Activation" in settings it says my edition is "Windows 10 pro", even though my original pc had Windows 7 Home (i think), could this be the issue?

When i installed windows 10 on my new PC with the 25 character product key it accepted it without objection. Now when i try to activate it, it objects. I am using a product key, should i use something else?
