Windows 10: I need help with a problem with the windows 10 video editor

Whenever i make a project and i try to place it in the storyboard, the mp4 is an error saying "We cant read this file" and i know that it will accept mp4s cause ive put in mp4s into the storyboard. Please help me

Option to Edit Speed in not available in Video Editor app

As you have mentioned that, your friends were able to find the Speed option on the Video Editor app. It could be possible that they are running a different version of app and your PC might be running an older version of app.

To uninstall and reinstall the Video Editor App and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Now, paste following command and hit Enter:
   Get-AppxPackage * Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | Remove-AppxPackage
   
3. Once the command is executed, open Microsoft Store application.
   
4. Click on the Search bar, search for
   Photos App and click on it.
   
5. Now, click on Install to install the application.

1. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?
   
3. What happens when you try to play the videos through any other video player?
   
4. Does this issue occur with specific videos or all the videos?

Try troubleshooting the app with the built in troubleshooter. Refer the article

Method 2:



Try re-registering the apps and see if that helps. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on
   Windows PowerShell (Admin)
   
2. Now type in the following command and hit enter to re-register the apps:
   Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Restart the PC once the commands are complete.
   

Method 3:



To isolate the issue related to user account corruption try creating a new user account and check if the app is working fine. Refer the article
