Windows 10: I need help with my old laptop

When i turn on my old laptop that I got from my family member, it boots up like normal until the login screen where the screen just goes black. I can still see my cursor and move it around but the screen randomly turns red my chosen colour in settings then goes black. I have left it on for a few hours to see if it would boot in at some point but nothing happens. If you have a solution but it makes the laptop reset thats fine. JUST PLEASE HELP!!

Yeah this is good suggestions here with your old laptop but i just want to say you that you should replace your old laptop with any new laptop by exchanging the old one and i think this is the best opinion for you ....
