Computer crashes while I'm playing various videogames

everytime I run a videogame (3D,2D graphic adventure, no matter what) at a certain point the PC stops working, the screen turns black and the system reboots itself.

Systems crashes when playing various videogames

Hey guys,

I've found many great answers from the Microsoft forums over the years. It has been a great resource. I haven't found the answer to my problem yet though.

Here's the issue I am facing with my computer:

Whenever I play Steam VR games (Half Life Alyx, Arizona Sunshine, etc) or more graphically-intense regular mouse and keyboard games, my computer will crash after running for a few minutes. All tabs go to "Not Responding", and the whole system freezes. My mouse can still move around, but not interact with anything. I hold the power button to turn off the computer, then turn it back on. Starts up and runs fine until I try to play another big game.

I have spent many hours over the past year trying to figure out this problem, with no solution found. Any advice? It would help a lot if I could get the crash dumps to generate.

What I have tried:

• Turned off and on the XMP profile in the UEFI BIOS
  
• Verified, uninstalled, and reinstalled Steam
  
• SFC scan and repair
  
• Deactivated all screen recording software
  
• Checked events in Event Viewer
  
  • Critical or Error event IDs (7000, 41, 6008)
    
  • Warning event IDs (10016, 27)
    
• Tried to generate crash dump with Windows Startup and Recovery tool, no dump has been generated in over ~30 crashes since I started trying to obtain crash dumps
  
  • Write an event to the system log (CHECKED)
    
  • Automatically restart (UNCHECKED)
    
  • I've tried Automatic, Kernel, and Small memory dumps
    
• Reliability Monitor report
  
  • Critical Event: Windows was not shut down properly. (when I forced a shutdown on the computer)
    
• Switched VR headset USB cable to plug into a 3.0 port instead of a 2,0 port on my board
  
• Furmark, and Prime95 do not cause crashes to occur
