  1. I need permission from my own computer to do simple tasks?

I experienced this problem even more in Windows 11, which is why I reverted back, that and 11 not having a start menu that could be moved to the left side of the screen.I have been repeatedly confronted with the following problems and wonder if there's a solution.I'm the owner of this computer.I am the sole user of this computer.I live alone.I'm the only listed user of this computer and I'm an "administrator"Yet dozens of innocent simple tasks are confronted with the same notice that either I am not authorized to • Rename a desktop shortcut• Download software to the x86 programs file see belo

    • Do let us know the make and model of your computer?
    • Have you installed HP simple pass software on your computer?

Try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to download the latest HP Simple Pass software from the manufacturer's website install it and check if it helps.

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.

  4. I need permission from my own computer to do simple tasks?

    No permissions

    Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.
