Windows 10: I need to access my WindowsApps folder that is stored on a external hardrive.

I have a 1TB SSD and it contains a WindowsApps folder. Using WinDirStat, I can see that the folder primarily contains 100GB worth of Sea Of Thieves data. I've already attempted to delete the app through settings, xbox, control panel, but to no avail. I've attempted to change ownership of the folder through properties>security>advanced> change, but once I click on 'change' I get the following prompt, "Can't open access control editor. Unable to perform a security operation on an object that has no associated security". My question is, how do I access this folder to delete most of the f

I am trying to list the windowsapp folder to give access to a program stored there so that it will be the default program for the .vob extension

It is already installed. In accordance with your suggestion, I have created a folder for it under Program Files and moved it there. Thanks. I would still be interested in understanding why I cannot get access to the WindowsApps folder, even after following all the steps I can follow online. Any insights please?

 

How to Access Windowsapp Folder On External Drive

Hello,

I have been looking for a while and cannot seem to find an answer to my problem.

That being said, I changed the location for windows apps to install to my new external ssd drive.

The issue is that I am not allowed access to the windowsapp folder it created on said drive.

I have run through the normal steps of gaining access/changing the owner of the folder to no avail (get the following error: "Can't open access control editor. Unable to perform a security operation on an object that has no associated security." - see screenshot
below)

I need access to this folder in order to copy information over, but cannot figure out how to gain that.

I don't know a lot about computer processes so please try to be clear in your answers!
