    activation of windows xp

    I had to activate XP several years go.

    MS telephone activation was still available.

    You need the XP CD PRODUCT id

    the telephone number was 877-nnn-nnnn

    I dont want to list the last 7 digits.

    Try searching on the MS Support for the current

    tele. number if any,

    Windows XP Online/Telephone Activation

    While I appreciate that Windows XP support stopped in 2014, there are still some very specialized machines out there that need to keep running until alternatives can be accommodated.

    Today I was trying to re-activate a device, which I would usually do via the internet, only today it failed to connect. When I tried to use either of the two telephone numbers, one said it couldn't connect the call, the other put me in a Press number loop.

    So my question is, will Microsoft continue to provide a method for activating Windows XP, and if not, what timeframe can they give as to when this will cease, if it hasn't already.
