Not able to install Microsoft MPI

Hello there - I'm trying to install Microsoft MPI on my Windows 10 VDI. It works on my Windows 11 Desktop. wondering if is because VDI cause this issue. the msmpisdk.msi is working fine. just the .exe not working. When I open the installation file it show blue circle but not able to find in Task Manager waited for 30 mins still nothing pop up. Here is the link for the MPI. Thank you for the help.

Links/associations not working


So, does no-one have suggestions or a solution to my problem?
The problem occurs when I double-click on a folder or link: 'This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel'.
I can only open them by right-clicking on the item and select 'Open' which is third in the list. Above that is 'Search' and on the top is 'cmd' (where 'Open would normally appear).
I've scoured the Net and tried several ways to cure this (including 'Default File Type Associations - Restore in Windows 10') but to no avail.
Any suggestions most welcome.

 

Microsoft MPI github project does not open in Visual Studio 2022

(Running: Windows 10, Visual Studio 2022) I'm trying to build a project that uses the mpi.h #include file. This set of libraries is not on my system. I followed the link to the Microsoft MPI project on github (here's the link). There is a Visual Studio project in the 'src' folder of that repository. But when I try to open it in Visual Studio, I get a series of errors that say:

<path>\src\mpi\msmpi\dll\msmpi.vcxproj : error : The function "GetType" on type "System.String" is not available for execution as an MSBuild property function. C:\Program Files\Common Files\MSVC\MPI\.build\CBT\build.props

When I search that error, I get a link to another Microsoft page that indicates GetType is unpredictable. However, the only recommended action is to "replace any calls to GetType() with alternative MSBuild logic", which is not exactly a comprehensive solution.

Can anyone suggest how to integrate the MPI libraries onto my system such that the mpi.h #include file is properly referenced by any Visual Studio project that might use it?
