Windows 10: I need to register a .dll or .tlb file, but I am getting access errors

I am developing an application, in the application I am building an authentication system that integrates with Active Directory. I will use LDAP to query login credentials to a local domain controller. To achieve this, I am using a direct-call method that utilizes the Activeds.tlb or Activeds.dll, but it says that the specific type-library isn't registered. Then i tried to register it via CMD, by running it as administrator, and using the "regsvr32"-command. When I do this, I get an error saying that the .dll was loaded, but could not find the DllRegisterServer. I included an image of the err

VB6 COM application, tlb not register

Hi,

I have VB6 COM application, installed by Installshield. COM dll is registered, but when first time to run the application, it has to run as administrator, otherwise, the application can not be launched as the TLB is not registered. "Run as administrator"
will register those related TLB and after that administrator is not required. How to solve this so that we do not need to run as administrator first time.

Typelib not registered

Hello, I have downloaded and installed a software, it shows "Typelib not registered"

I followed unable to register the type library: Register TypeLib failed; - Microsoft Community and have the same problems:

To fix the error message, try registering the Library file.

Step 1:

a. Go to Start and type cmd.

b. Right-Click on cmd and select “Run as administrator”.

c. Type the following command without the quotes and press Enter.

“regsvr32 \windows\system32\STDOLE2.TLB”

You should see a message saying "DllRegisterServer ... succeeded"

Make sure thatregsvr32 “\windows\system32\STDOLE2.TLB”is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.

Answer is---

The error value 0x8002801c means, Error accessing the OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) registry. You need to copy theMSCOMCT2.OCX file to c:\windows\sysWOW64 not c:\windows\system32.

This file already exists in given location "c:\windows\sysWOW64"

 

stdole2.tlb cannot register. entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found.

Hi abcasda, what is the actual problem you are having.?

STDOLE2.TLB exports no functions and is not registerable. Whatever instructions you are following that advise registering the DLL are nonsensical.
