Windows 10: I need to restore Win 10, but it won't accept my Live password and now I'm locked out of my...

So, I turned my laptop on today and for some reason Windows found a problem and won't start up. The options are to reset everything or recover from a system restoration point. I'm trying to do the latter because I don't want to lose my work files, but when prompted for a password for my Microsoft account, it says my password is incorrect. I reset my password via my phone but it still won't work. I'm desperate, I don't have a backup of all my files and I don't know what happened!


The only app I've installed recently was Blender 2.83, I downloaded it last night from the official site and everything was working normally until I turned my laptop off

Windows 10 won't accept current Windows Live password

I have a PC running Windows 10, I've had the computer for about a year.

I had no login requirements, until a recent update, when it started requiring my Windows Live account password.

I recently (after I had to start using Windows Live to log in) changed the password. The first few times I used it, it worked fine with the new password.

Now, it no longer accepts the new password, but instead only accepts the old password before the last change.

I verified that my Windows Live password is correct, but the login won't accept it, just the old password.

This happened after a power blip, so I restarted the computer again.

It still won't accept the password.

I also went into Settings to try to change the login requirements, and it won't let me. I tried to switch t a local account, it tells me it couldn't be changed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Safe Mode won't accept correct password

I'm trying to run a third party software (AVG Internet Security) cleanup file that recommends Safe Mode. Yet, when I get to the Safe Mode lock screen, it won't accept my password (note that I am entering the password, not the PIN - it's the same password that gets me into my Microsoft account). Any suggestions what I should try? I'm hesitant to run the cleanup file in full Windows since it's not recommended.

 

My Desktop (Win 10) won't accept password... says it is "incorrect"

Trying to sign in on my Desktop (Win 10) - won't accept password... says it is "incorrect". So I reset it in my MS account using laptop (Win 8). Laptop now accepts new password, but desktop still does not. What to do? Please help.
