Windows 10: I need to return to an earlier restore point or reset Windows, but no password I try works....

Windows recently updated and since then, whenever I try to login, it bluescreens. After, windows will fail to boot and the bios will open; in the bios, when I look for my NVMe drive, it won't show. If I then reboot my PC and go to the bios, the drive will show and windows will boot, but logging in will cause a bluescreen again and it will be the same as above. If I enter the recovery environment, I can boot into Safe Mode and will be able to login, but if I try to use any administrative tools, like event viewer, it will bluescreen with the same result as above. how to restore windows 10 to earlier restore point

I need to reset mt windows 10 computer to an earlier restore point. I've tried cortina but the directions for step 1 - to click on "all programs" in the left side bar - doesn't exist. I also tried searching control panel for "all programs" which offered several options, again, none of which work.

I would be eternally gratefull for any help.

Suppose I go back to an earlier version of C: with the desired restore point, restore from it and create a restore point on D:, then reload the current C:. Will I be able to restore from that restore point on D:?

Step by step:

1. Enable Restore for D:
   
2. Back up the C: drive with Acronis.
   
3. Restore C: to an earlier date with the desired restore point, from the Acronis backup image.
   
4. Restore the system from the desired restore point.
   
5. See if Restore is still enabled for D:. If not, enable it there, with the same capacity as in step 1.
   
6. Disable Restore for C:.
   
7. Create a restore point. Since there's no availability on C:, it should be created on D:, and be identical to the desired restore point.
   
8. Now put C: back to the current version using the backup created in step 2.
   

Will the system now recognize that restore point on D: and let me restore from it?
