Windows 10: i need to transfer all my products over to steam

So in days past you would buy a pc game or software and it was a physical disc and you could use that game anywhere on the pc you used the product key on. now most games are digital only and they limit where on your pc you can use that product key which is pretty scummy. anyone know if theres a way im not seeing to transfer your microsoft games over to steam? cause this cloud stuff is really getting out of hand and im running away from microsoft and need to bring my products with me.

• Delete the original file.

Transfer of product key

Hello.

Whoever told you that you need to "deactivate" is wrong. Go here for actual steps on transfering the product key over:

Simply put, you just need to transfer the license over. you do not need to deactivate first.
