Windows 10: I need to wait 2 hours because my pin and am locked out.

My laptop is locked out because my friend tried the wrong pin too many times, it is now locked for 2 hours. I tried keeping it on for more than 2 hours but it is still locked. After entering the challenge phrase: A1B2C3, It told me to type in my pin. I did but it says the same thing. There is no I forgot password, only wifi, accessibility and power button. I tried the hold down shift method but it says keyboard not detected. I am very sure that I know my pin. I also have no other sign in options as I didn't set any. I have already waited more than 30 hours, can someone help please?Thankyo

Pin entered incorrect... Wait 2 hours

We keep getting the error message that the pin was entered incorrectly too many times, but I KNOW the pin I am entering is correct...

When I try to change my pin it says that it will send a code to my email... And no code ever comes. We have waited the 2 hours and still get the same error.

I have waited the necessary 2 hours after being locked out of my windows profile due to incorrect pin and It's still coming up with the notification that sign in is disabled and to wait 2 hours. I have even waited 24 hours and tried the following day but it still wont let me access with the correct pin. I'm really not sure what to do. This is very urgent is effecting business operations and am locked out of necessary applications to run the gym facility. Please help

I understand that you are facing issues with Windows Hello PIN on your PC. I will certainly try my best to assist you with the issue.



Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try booting the PC in Safe Mode and then try to delete the NGC folder for Windows Hello PIN. You can follow the below steps to delete NGC folder and see if you are able to setup the PIN.

1. Press Windows + E to open File Explorer.
   
2. On the left hand pane click on This PC.
   
3. Now navigate to the location C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft.
   
4. Right click on the NGC folder and click on Delete.
   
5. Click on Yes.
   

In case you are receiving permission error then try running the command and see if you are able to delete it.

1. Press Windows + S key together to open Search.
   
2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Accept the UAC prompts.
   
4. Type in the following commands one by one and hit Enter:
   icacls C:WindowsServiceProfilesLocalServiceAppDataLocalMicrosoftNgc /T /Q /C /RESET
   
5. Close the CMD window
   
6. Try to delete the NGC folder.
