Windows 10: (I never knew!) Movies & TV + Movies Anywhere lets you watch Amazon and Apple Video...

Ever since college I took to making digital purchases of films and tv shows on Amazon Instant Video. I have a pretty sizeable collection to the point where I never considered any other service before. Going through my Xbox One I fired up the video rental store just checking it out and I saw some purchases I made to test out the service ages ago. Then I hopped on my Surface and looked at the store and saw there was a link to a service called Movies Anywhere. Holy crap, it provides a service where your collection is essentially shareable regardless of the vendor you're watching through (for supported outlets). I created the free account and then the Movies & TV started populating my Amazon library instantly.

This is sooooooooo huge for me, I never knew about it! I have a Surface and always wished Amazon would make a video app for their service like they did Audible, but this is even better because it collects from Amazon, Microsoft, and the 1 or 2 movies I purchased on the iTunes store way back.

I wish Microsoft would put something front and center about this service when Movies & TV is launched for the first time because I would have been using it ages ago. Just thought I'd share with anyone who was in the same position as me.

No Wish list in Movies & TV

I am surprised that there is no Wish list in Microsoft's Movies & TV. When you browse around the movies and collect the titles what you want to watch and store in Wish list for future's purchase. They have none in Movies & TV, this results that they
"force" you to buy them immediately. I think that they should add "Wish List" feature to the moves & TV like Amazon and Apple's itune.

 

Watch movies on LG TV

1. Yes I can watch these movies on my computer.
2. Yes I can watch movies from other sources, Hulu, Vudu and Amazon
It seems to be only from the Windows store. It's asking for a Silverlight plugin?

Movies & TV

Please don't reset the app or do any those steps that the previous poster suggested, they're unnecessary and can cause other problems.

The first step to try is restoring your purchases from within the settings menu of the Movies & TV app.

Click the … then select Settings, select Restore my available video purchases.

Give it a few minutes to run, then go back to the Purchased tab and try playing the movie again.
