Windows 10: I no longer have bluetooth after performing windows update

Last night I performed a standard update on my computer when shutting it down, now this morning I no longer have bluetooth.When I try and connect to a device it says "Bluetooth is turned off" however the switch to active Bluetooth is missing. The drivers do not appear in device manager unless I select "show hidden devices", and the troubleshooter says that "Device does not have bluetooth."Everything was working as intended 12 hours ago, the only thing that has changed is the update, and I cannot roll it back because it was not a major update.And I know it is not an issue with the card as it is

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

 

Bluetooth Headphone Connection Issues

I would suggest to perform some basic troubleshooting steps by following the article to find out the reason and to update the Bluetooth driver.

Check the Status of the Bluetooth in Device Manager and update it:

• Search Device Manager using Cortana.
• Right click Bluetooth drivers and select the Update driver software.

Check also if the Bluetooth service on your laptop is enabled by following this steps:

• Press Windows key + R and type service.msc
• Search for Bluetooth Support Service.
• Right click on the Service and click on Enable.

Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.
