Since a recent Windows "upgrade" I have lost the ability to see never mind explore my intranet devices. Particularly my Vortebox NAs which means I cant transfer music files. Is there a fix?

How do I expand the 'Recent' list in the File Explorer?

    Thanks for an alternative suggestion.

Windows 10 upgrade from 8.1 - now I can't see my NAS listed under Network in File Explorer

I have just upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Formerly I was able to see my Synology Diskstation NAS unit listed under "Network" in File Explorer and now it isn't shown.

There is a Diskstation entry under "This PC" which expands to show entries for Music, Photo and Video which are read only - I cannot paste files to these. It also omits other files on Diskstation

If I double click on "Network" in File Explorer it shows the Computer(s), Media Devices, Network Infrastructure and Other Devices and the Other Devices include the DiskStation NAS listed in the right hand pane.

    Is the change intentional?

If so, how can I connect to the DiskStation in File Explorer to update its contents?

If not, when can we expect a fix

    Thanks

NAS not appearing under Network in File Explorer - Automating the Fix

I have been having issues with my WD MyCloud NAS not showing up under Network on the left navigation pane of File Explorer. I am able to access the NAS by entering the host name (\\WDMYCLOUD) in the address bar in File Explorer. I was able to find a solution that fixes this and makes my NAS appear in Network as expected. The solution involved running Command Prompt as Admin, executing some commands, then restarting the computer.

What I would like to do is automate this process by creating a batch file that will:

    1. Open Command Prompt as Admin
    2. Automatically enter specific commands
    3. Close Command Prompt
    4. Restart the computer

The problem is I don't know anything about how to code batch files in order to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
