Windows 10: I now have had two Dell laptops have a boot error that comes back no hard drive found in...

I have an old Dell that had updates from windows 8 pro to running windows 10 and now a Dell that is about 3 years old running windows 10 both have a no hard drive found error. My oldest one is not supported by Dell. I've sent the Seagate hard drive to recover data and they said they couldn't. The head had stuck on it but the platter looked in great condition. Tonight my screen locked up on the newest Dell and I had to turn it off. Even trying ctrl-alt-delete would open take manager. When I try to reboot the no hard disk error came up. Tried all the f12 advanced options and none would wo

No drive found on my internal hard disk on Dell Latitude E5430.

Hello,My laptop (Dell Latitude E5430) was working perfectly till yesterday. But yesterday night, it restarted on its own and ever since, it's stuck at this screen:



Also, inside the BIOS, no UEFI bootable hard disk drive is being listed.



The UEFI flash disk option shown above is that of my bootable pen drive with Windows 10 installation copy.I googled this issue a bit and the results were as follows:

1. one thread suggested that I should run Dell's internal diagnostics to see if there anything wrong with hard disk. I did that but every component, including the hard disk one, passed these internal test.
   
   
2. a second thread suggested that I should try to remove and reseat the hard disk. I did that following Dell's user manual.
3. another thread suggested that I should reinstall my windows 10 afresh. But when I try to do so, the windows installation wizard doesn't list any drive in the hard disk. It's as if it doesn't detect hard disk at all.
   
   

In a nutshell, while the hard disk is being detected, but none of its drives is. However, the hard disk consisted of 3 drives:

1. C: with the windows' and applications' installations,
2. D: with all of my data,
3. E: which was recovery drive.

Any troubleshooting suggestions?I'm sorry I am not able to help you guys with any logs and stuff because I don't know how to get them when I can't get my Windows to boot. I'm not even sure if this is the correct section where I should be posting this thread.. I'm just so confused right now. *cry

A few weeks ago, I had upgraded (not fresh installation) from windows 10 version 1607 to 20H2. The version 1607 installation was a clean one (from scratch, after formatting the hard disk and creating new partitions).

 

Windows won't boot, doesn't recognise hard drive

Hello,

I am trying to boot up my Dell PC, but it keeps coming up with a BOOT error, 0xc000014c.

The PC keeps trying restart itself. When I do a diagnostics check, it doesn't recognise the hard drive being there, so fails this test. Assuming this is the issue as to why it won't boot up.

Any suggestions how to rectify this?

Can't get replacement hard drive to boot

The boot sector on my Windows 10 HP ProBook 650 laptop went bad. I purchased a replacement 1 TB hard drive, connect it to my laptop with a SATA to USB cable, set up partitions identical to those on my laptop and used xcopy to copy my files to their corresponding partitions on the new drive and set the partition to "active" and installed it in the laptop. When I power it up, it will not boot. I have followed various troubleshooting steps I found online but none worked.

Can anyone suggest some possible solutions?
