Windows 10: I only just discovered that Standard users can still install software without needing an...

I'm the family admin for two Win10 Home machines. I would like it to be impossible for Standard users to install anything without requiring an admin password. Is there any way to achieve this?

I was actually surprised to discover that my kids, who have their own Standard account, were able to install stuff. I honestly expected that a window demanding an admin password would pop up, but it didn't.

Need some restriction of my standard user in my PC

The easiest way to restrict a standard user from accessing the files of another user account is by ensuring that the files are saved to the
C:\Users\<AdministratorUsername> folder or the %userprofiles% folder. If a standard user attempts to access the files from the said folder, by default, it would instantly prompt for the administrator's credentials in order
to access it.

If you wish to put restrictions on a specific file, you may follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the specific file and choose Properties.
  
• Choose Security tab.
  
• Click Edit.
  
• Choose Add.
  
• Type the username, click Check Name and then, hit
  OK.
  
• You can now manage the restrictions for the user profile, under Permissions for <username>.

If you wanted to set a restriction on the Local Drive, follow these steps:

• Double-click This PC.
  
• Right-click on Local Disk (C.
  
• Choose Properties.
  
• Select Security tab.
  
• Click Edit.
  
• Choose Add.
  
• Type the username, click Check Name and then, hit OK.
• Set the level of restriction for the said drive.

Stuck as standard user

Hi,

Since your account is recognized as a standard user account, you can follow the steps below to change a user account type on Settings:

• Press Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
• Click on Accounts and select Family & other people.
• Under people, select the user account, and click Change account type.
• Select Administrator from the drop down menu, then click
  OK.

Install Diablo 3 on Linux

Just install PlayOnLinux? Why did they make step 2 and 3 of this "tutorial"?

Anyway, looking at the supported software list for PlayOnLinux, D3 is a step in the right direction. Lack of gaming is a factor for a lot of people when deciding on an OS, if more recent games get ported it may help migrate them to their preferred choice.
