Windows 10: I pressed a picture that started to download immediately but I can't find it in my download...

Hello,About ten minutes ago, I was on Google Images, and I pressed a picture simply to enlarge it, yet it said "downloading," which shocked me. I then looked in my download folder, but didn't see anything that downloaded today or even this past month. Is it possible that it did download with a virus and just didn't appear in my download folder?I have Windows 10.Thanks,Daffy D

Downloaded files disappear


When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
   
2. Double-click one of the following folders:
   
   • Downloads
     
   • Documents
     
   • Pictures
     
   • Videos
     
   • Music

If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
To search for a file you have downloaded...

1. Click the Start button
   
2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
   The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.

 

Why are pictures I download showing up on my desktop and some pictures I don't know who they are being saved on my computer?

To assist you better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• From where are you trying to download and save the Pictures?
• While saving the Pictures are you not prompted to save in a particular location?

I suggest you to check in the Downloads folder and check if they exist there.

• Press Windows + E keys and select Downloads
  in the left side Navigation bar and check if the downloaded Pictures exists there.

Something wrong with downloads?

maybe list the specific file you are trying to download. I also just grabbed a download with no issues, and good speed.
