Windows 10: I purged my entire downloads folder. Is there any way to get it back?

When I was trying to clear up space, I purged my whole downloads folder thinking it was my recycle bin. I had 30gbs of stuff that I didn't want to delete forever and now it's all gone. Is there any way to get it back? I don't have any backups of my computer and I've already checked the Previous Versions tab and found nothing. Please help...

Purged deleted folder

I deleted a large folder by accident. It was apparently too large for the recycle bin and was purged. I need it back. My backup to a Seagate external drive does not find the most recent version of the folder intact (as a separate entity) but instead shows
thousands of individual files, many of which are unreadable. Any suggestions?

 

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Potential ways to hide folders entirely?

I'm looking for a potential way to hide folders entirely (I.E: From Cortana and from simply searching for it.)

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but if it is, would you be able to direct me as to how? Thanks!
