Windows 10: I receive a C Drive error every time I turn my PC on

Hi, whenever I load up my PC I'm told there are errors with my C drive. The PC says its fixing them but once the PC loads up I right click on my C drive, go on properties, tools, error checking and I'm told there's still an issue and that I might lose data on that file. I've rinsed and repeated this multiple time but nothing has changed. I have moved my important documents on that file over to a usb drive. What can I do to fix this?

No Drive C Disc error reapires at startup

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

• For which drive are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
• What error are you getting?
• Are you referring to Disc drive or Hard drive?

If it is a Drive partition of the hard drive let's try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

• Press Start and type This PC.
• On top you can see file ribbon. Select a drive and Click on
  manage.
• Select Optimize. Select the Drive which you want to optimize.
• Click on analyze and click Optimize.
• Restart the PC and check.

Note: This might take a long time to analyze and optimize. So better keep the laptop plugged in to charger. If the laptop shuts down in between the process it may cause issues.

I would suggest you to install the pending updates logging into Microsoft account.

PC taking long time to scan and repair C Drive

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Sometimes, your computer is noticeably slower or programs hang when you access certain files. This problem might occur because there are errors on your hard disk drive. Scanning your hard drive would exceed the time
depending on the size of your drive and errors found. Basically, it will check for C Drive while scanning the drive and later checks other drives connected.

We ideally do not recommend any customers to restart the machine while it’s scanning the hard drive, as it would result in no boot or data loss scenario. So, I would suggest you to wait for a little while to see if it completes the scan and if
it issue persists, you may reboot the machine and press Esc key when you receive a prompt to scan your hard drive.

Also, I suggest you to disconnect any USB devices except for keyboard and mouse which would prevent the PC to scan for a longer time.
