  1. I recently replaced my cpu and gpu in my desktop and now some games power off my computer....

Before upgrading my computer, all of my games ran perfectly fine. I updated the bios, the drivers for the components, and double checked power compatibility with my new components to ensure the swap was smooth. I ran many stress tests to ensure my system was working and they performed on par with other users testing scores no overclocking was done. Afterwards I played some games Fortnite from the epic games store and overwatch from blizzard to be precise with no issue and I was happy with the way they played. The next day I played Call of duty warzone from steam and also experienced no i

  2. Why does my cpu and gpu keep spiking and dropping fps in games?

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Experiencing CPU and GPU spikes, along with FPS drops in games, can be frustrating. Here are some potential solutions to help you address these issues:

    1. Update Drivers:
      • Regularly update your graphics and chipset drivers to the latest versions to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
    2. Close Background Processes:
      • Use Task Manager to close unnecessary background processes and applications that might be using system resources.
    3. Improve Cooling:
      • Clean your PC's fans and ensure proper airflow. Consider adding more fans or using a more aggressive cooling solution if necessary.
    4. Check for Malware:
      • Run a full system scan to check for malware that might be using system resources.
    5. Adjust Game Settings:
      • Lower the game's graphical settings to reduce the workload on your GPU and CPU. This can help maintain a more stable FPS.
    6. Test Hardware:
      • Test your GPU and other hardware components on another system to rule out hardware failure. If a component is faulty, consider replacing it.
    7. Enable Unified GPU Usage Monitoring:
      • If using MSI Afterburner, enable "unified GPU usage monitoring" to potentially fix usage spikes and stuttering.
    8. Check Internet Connection:
      • Ensure your internet connection is stable, especially for online games. A weak connection can cause FPS drops.

Please do let me know if the method I suggested works for you or if you need further assistance.

So my game not run on gpu it onlying run cpu plz help me

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

If your games are not using your GPU and instead are running on your CPU, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some steps you can take to ensure that the games utilize your GPU:

    1. Check Game Settings: Some games have an option in their settings menu to select which graphics processor to use. Check if American Truck Simulator and Farming Simulator 22 have this option.
    2. Change Graphics Settings in Windows:
      • Go to Windows Settings > System > Display.
      • Scroll down and click on "Graphics settings".
      • Click on "Browse" under "Add an app to set preference".
      • Add the .exe file of the game.
      • Once added, click on the game then click on "Options".
      • Set the graphics preference of this game as "High performance" and save.
    3. Update Your Graphics Drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your GPU. You can download these from the manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel).
    4. NVIDIA Control Panel/AMD Radeon Settings: If you're using an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card, you can manually set a game to use a specific graphics processor through their control panel:

      For NVIDIA:
      • Right-click anywhere on desktop, then select NVIDIA Control Panel.
      • Go to Manage 3D settings > Program Settings.
      • Select the game from dropdown list (Add it if not listed).
      • In 'Select preferred graphics processor' dropdown, select High-performance NVIDIA processor.
      For AMD:
      • Right-click anywhere on desktop, then select AMD Radeon Settings.
      • Go to Preferences > Additional Settings > Power > Switchable Graphics Application Settings.
      • Select the game from dropdown list (Add it if not listed).
      • Set it for High performance.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.
