  1. I remove a wifi network from my known connections, but it keeps connecting anyway

I am having a terribly annoying issue with my Windows 11. There is a WIFI network I wish to remove from my known connections b/c I DONT want to connect to it. First I did the obvious thing of going to "manage known networks" and then press "forget" on the network. However, I would find later my PC would reconnect to the network and I'd check my list of "known" wifi networks and sure enough there it is. This is of course absolutely perplexing. Seeing this wasn't working, I tried the nuclear option: I went to REGEDIT and found the master list of networks and deleted it there. And, yet again,

    :)

WiFi [un][known] connections keep coming back, no removal.

Exactly what is the problem? Do you just mean that undesired networks appear in this list?

    "Remove"? Where are you looking?

Are you saying that you renamed some networks or what?
    What hiccup?
Windows does not create the networks you detect.
I suggest you check what networks your router is generating.

    Best of luck,

WiFi [un][known] connections keep coming back, no removal.
In my Windows 10 Wifi section, I have some unknown and known connections that will not stay away.
Some do not have a remove button, how can I prevent a few connections to not come back?
My spectrum 2G and 5G connections have been replaced by spectrumsetup-[two digit number].
While that one auto-connects, my former 2G or my former 5G keeps coming back into attempted play.

Because this is causing a little havoc within my network, I am also posting in bleepingcomputer.

  4. I remove a wifi network from my known connections, but it keeps connecting anyway

Keeps connecting to an open WiFi that's not on the "known" list

    I've got a weird problem I can't figure out:

New Surface Book running Windows 10. Every time it boots, it connects to "xfinitywifi" (an open WiFi access point apparently belonging to a neighbor). This AP has "limited connectivity", though, so no internet access (and I don't want to be connected to it, anyways!).

I've previously connected to my home WiFi, and this is the only network listed in my "Manage known networks" list. When I manually "disconnect" from xfinitywifi, Windows automatically connects to my home WiFi. For some reason, though, on boot up, it automatically connects to this open network (despite being set to NOT connect to open networks), and it prefers this open network over my (secured) known network.

I have disabled the "Wi-Fi Sense" "feature".

    Any ideas?
