I wanted to tidy up my Quick Access, the files that seem to auto populate underneath the pinned ones.I right clicked and selected 'remove from Quick Access' and then another file came into this list so I carried on removing them before I realised this was not quick access at all but recently used folders. When I then went into One Drive the folders I had removed from quick access had been deleted and I have no way of getting them back. Is this a known bug?

    :)

    File removal from Quick Access

    Hi MustufaXC

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you right click that file in Quick Access, and choose 'Remove from Quick Access' is that when you get that error?

If it is, then your Quick Access list is corrupt and the only way to resolve this would be to clear the whole Quick Access list, please note. this will remove everything from Quick Access

    Open File Explorer.

In the Address bar paste this and press Enter:

    shell:recent\AutomaticDestinations

Delete the contents of the resulting folder

In the Address bar paste this and press Enter:

    shell:recent\CustomDestinations

Delete the contents of the resulting folder

Restart (not shut down) your PC.

  3. Quick Access bar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty.

    Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

    • Right click on the file or folder.
    • Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

    Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

    • Open the quick access.
    • Select the Desktop option.
    • Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

    Deleted Files in Quick Access

I inadvertently deleted a file in Quick Access, not knowning it was removing it from my drive. Is there any way to recover this file?
