Can't watch videos on Win 10

    Hi,

Please assist me with the following information related to this issue:

    • Which web browser are you using to watch online videos?
    • Do you receive any error message?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?
If you are using Internet Explorer to watch online videos, I suggest you to
follow the steps mentioned in the following link and check:Why won't videos play in Internet Explorer?

Note: The above mentioned article contains steps to reset IE. Resetting Internet Explorer's settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings in IE are lost and cannot
    be recovered.

    Note:

    • If using the monitor on a different computer works, then the issue is with your video card.

MP4 Video files corrupted after Windows 10 Installation

    Hi Chicag Omar,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    1. Are you able to play these videos on your ZTE Axon 7?
    2. What is the make and model number of your computer and the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer
See which version of Windows 10 you have).
    3. What is the error message that you got when you try to upload the videos on YouTube?
    4. While moving the files to the secondary hard drive or back to the computer, was there any interruption during the progress?
    5. Are you able to play all other files except MP4/H.264?
    6. Do you have a backup of these videos anywhere else?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to try the below methods and check if this helps.

    Method 1:
Uninstalling All Other Media Players And Re-Installing Windows Media Player.

Please uninstall all the other media players except Windows Media Player by following the below steps.

Click on the Start Menu > Search for
Control Panel and hit Enter > Select Programs >
Programs and Features and then select the program and click on
    Uninstall
    .

    1. To reinstall Windows Media Player, press the Windows and
      R keys > Type optionalfeatures.exe > Hit
      Enter
      > Expand Media features > Uncheck Windows Media Player > Click
      OK.
    2. Restart the computer once > Again, go to
      Optional Features
and check box the option Windows Media Player > Click
OK > Restart the computer once and try playing the video.

If the issue persists after following Method 1, then try the steps in
Method 2 and check if you are able to play the videos.

    Method 2:
Reducing The Video Card Hardware Acceleration.

    1. Right-click on an empty area from Desktop > Click on
Personalize > Choose Display Settings > Select
      Advanced Settings
      > Switch to Troubleshoot tab > Click on
Change Settings and click on Reduce Hardware Acceleration.
    2. Once you change the above settings, restart the computer once and try playing the video.

If the issue persists after following Method 2, then try the steps in
Method 3 and check if you are able to play the videos.

    Method 3:
    Video Playback Troubleshooter.

    1. I suggest you to run the Video Playback Troubleshooter by typing
troubleshooting in the Start Menu > Select
      Troubleshooting
      > Click on View all from the top left corner > Click on
Video Playback and follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
    2. Once the troubleshooter has completed its troubleshooting,
      restart the computer once
and check if you are able to play the videos.

If the issue persists after following Method 3, then try the steps in
Method 4 and check if you are able to play the videos.

    Method 4:
    Updating The Graphics Card Driver.

Before updating the Graphics Card Driver, please Create a system restore point and then
    follow the below steps.

    1. It might be that you have an outdated Graphics Card driver, so I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in
Update drivers in Windows 10 and update the Graphics Card driver of your computer.
    2. Restart the computer once after updating the driver and try playing the video.

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the above methods, I suggest you to try playing the same videos on another computer and check if you are able to play these videos.

If you would like me to provide additional advice, simply respond to this thread. I will get notified and I’ll reply to you as soon as I can.
