    thank you, I appreciate your help. However, as I mentioned inmy initial email, "I have 2 monitors that are working. the Left monitor has a 2 inch border on the right side. the resolution is 1440x900. If
    use the recommended 1600x 900resolution the windows icon disappears from the right side of the screen.

    the "recommended" setting is worse.

    any other suggestions?

    Thank you.

    I did try using the monitor controls but that did not fix the problem. Note, this only affects the left monitor, whis is the primary one. There is no border on the rightmonitor.

    border on monitor

    I have 2 monitors that are working. the Left monitor has a 2 inch border on the right side. the resolution is 1440x900. If use the recommended 1600x 900resolution the windows icon disappears from the right side of the screen.
