Windows 10: I see the the files in the external memory/USB flash drive but I cannot write /change on...

Windows 11 on Lenovo Thinkbook. stopped writing to USB stick memory or external hard drive. I can read the files, on external drive / USB memory but cannot change them. In the device manager USB/external drive is shown as unknown. Tried diiferent ports, different USBs What should I do? I tried different solutions provided in Google with no result.

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

For clarification regarding formatting your USB flash drive, when you say "I've already ran CMD prompt", did you run it under safe mode? If not, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Shutdown your PC.
• Insert your USB Memory Stick into your laptop or Computer.
• Turn on laptop, and then immediately start pressing F8.
• Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
• After loading files, if your USB Memory Stick drive letter is G (for example), then write as:
  
  C:\windows\system32>G:, and press Enter.
  
  G:\>format G:, and press Enter.
  
• Press Y, and press Enter.
• Now a full format will start which remove write protection from USB Memory Stick.

My USB flash memory external drive is locked by a bit locker but when I enter the correct password the system messaged me that the password is not correct . Otherwise I want to remove the bit locker ................ How can I remove the bit locker
