  1. I setup my work laptop with AzureAD credentials instead of my company's AD credentials

I got a new Dell Inspiron 14 laptop from my employer. As i was setting it up, I mistakenly setup this with an AzureAD Admin account instead of my company's AD credentials. Now this new laptop has been setup with the wrong AD credentials & i am unable to install anything because its prompting me to enter admin user and password which i did several times to no avail. I tried disconnecting this AzureAD admin account but its giving me an error message that i should sign in with my admin creds & the disconnect button is grayed out. I even tried factory resetting this device & its prompt

    :)

  2. Unable to login to VM via RDP using Azure AD credentials...

Hey there, Microsoft community, I have a client using a Lenovo ThinClient with Windows 10 ioT installed. They are using it to login to a Windows 10 VM on a Scale NUC (not an Azure VM) via Remote Desktop Connection and they are to use their Azure AD credentials to remote in.

The problem I am having is that I can't seem to login with those credentials, the error I am getting is:

The credentials that were used to connect to VMName did not work. Please enter new credentials.

I have tried the following formats: "AzureAD\*** Email address is removed for privacy ***", "AzureAD\Username", "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***". None of them worked.

    I have verified the following:

    - the Azure AD user is on the list of Remote Desktop Users
    - the password I have entered is correct

    - I have rebooted the VM many times and reset the network connections using Scale NUC.

Now the VM was having a problem where it couldn't activate because it didn't find a valid Microsoft 365 Business subscription with the Azure AD user account. I fixed that by re-signing in, but I still cannot remote in using the AzureAD credentials.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Microsoft Community, in advance!

  3. Network credentials work from phone but not laptop

    Hello TerryReagan,

Thank you for providing us with this information.

The following are the suggested methods to troubleshoot Network Credential issues:

METHOD 1: Clear Credentials from Windows Credential Manager

Windows Credential Manager is where Windows username and password are stored including network credentials, websites, and apps.

    1. In your Windows 11 laptop, go to Windows Search box.
    2. Type "Credential Manager" and hit Enter.
    3. Click on "Windows Credentials".
    4. Look for your desktop name and remove credentials.
    5. Restart and check if you can now access your desktop.
METHOD 2: Add the credentials in Credentials Manager

If the above step did not work or your desktop credential is not listed, you can try adding it manually.

    1. Go to Windows Search box.
    2. Type "Credential Manager" and hit Enter.
    3. Click on Windows Credentials > Add Windows Credentials.
    4. Enter the username and password of the computer that you want to access.
    5. Click OK and restart your computer.
    6. Check if you can now login.
METHOD 3: Disable Credential Manager Service automatic Startup

    1. On your keyboard, press Windows key + R.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type services.msc.
    3. Scroll and locate the Credential Manager service.
    4. In the properties window, click the drop-down on the Startup type and select Disabled.
    5. Click Apply > OK to save changes.
    6. Restart your computer and check if you can now login.
METHOD 4: Set IP address to automatic

    1. On your keyboard, press Windows key + R.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type ncpa.cpl and hit Enter.
    3. Right-click on the network connection you are using and click on Properties.
    4. Double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option to edit properties.
    5. Click General tab, make sure the radio button is set to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
METHOD 5: Change Network Profile to Private

    1. Go to Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Click your network adapter.
    2. Under Network profile, if Public is selected, change it to Private.
    3. Restart your computer and check if you can now login.
Also, make sure both devices are connected to the same network.

Let us know the result and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

    Best regards,

    Hi Keith,

We suggest that you disable Credential Manager before mapping your Drives. Please follow these steps to disable Credential Manager:

    • In the search box type “Services
    • Right click on “Services” and select “Run as Administrator
    • In the Services Window, look for Credential Manager Service and click “Stop”.
    • Restart the computer and go back the Credential Manager Service and set it to “Automatic”.
    • Restart the computer again.

Please keep us updated if you were able to map your drives.
