When I try to change the "controlled folder access" so that my games can save the "no noise" option. I have no idea why my setting will no longer save over a reboot. When I try to access that feature, Windows 10 says "page not available" ............... Contact your IT help desk". I am the administrator and it says my original email address is administrator on the C drive.. I am thinking that I had trouble with my Microsoft account logon a while back and it now has a different email/logon. Is that the problem with my computer no longer recognizing me as administrator when I want to change ce

    Hi Vasu,

I suggest you to convert the existing account to Microsoft account with administrator privileges and check if it helps.

    • On the newly converted Local account (with no issues), click Start and then Settings.
    • Click Accounts and click on Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.

net user administrator /active:no to disable admin account after the troubleshooting is done.

Step 3: Log-in with the Built-in admin account to change the account type and try the below.

    • From Built-in account, press Windows + R keys from the Keyboard.

  3. Unable to delete a particular folder. Error: "You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder."

Windows Edition 10 Version 1809, OS build 18272.1000

After installing the latest creators update I have the following issue. When using Explorer to delete a folder that is not empty I always get this issue: "You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder." It doesn't matter
if I just created it or not. I can remove the folder just fine using rmdir <folder> /s /q.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1. Using explorer create the folder c:\users\rob\a\b\c.
    2. Using explorer try to delete folder c:\users\rob\a.
      1. It fails with "You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder."
    3. Using explorer delete the folder c:\users\rob\a\b\c -works just fine
    4. Using explorer delete the folder c:\users\rob\a\b -works just fine
    5. Using explorer delete the folder c:\users\rob\a -works just fine.

This will also reproduce the issue

    1. mkdir c:\users\rob\a
    2. mkdir c:\users\rob\a\b
    3. mkdir c:\users\rob\a\b\c
    4. Using explorer try to delete folder c:\users\rob\a.
      1. It fails with "You require permission from Administrators to make changes to this folder."

This is a new behavior and is causing some build tools to fail.

    Thanks,

    Rob
