shut down of PC without sign off of other user


I have two user, one with admin rights and other local standards. I have set up my PC to automatically sign in local user. My question is if admin sign in without sign off of local and thus shut down the PC, a message appears that another user is already sign in and will lose his work if shut down. Because I know no file is open in other user, so whether shut down the PC regularly without signing off other user will harm PC in any way.

 

External HDD still mounted even after reboot

Solved the problem with the following steps:

1. Turn on PC
   
2. Sign in to user account (drive is still there)
   
3. Start -> Sign out (NOT "Shut down")
   
4. Sign in with a DIFFERENT user account. (not sure if this step was necessary but it worked for me)
   
5. Sign out again
   
6. Sign in with the original user account
   

Drive is gone.
