Running Windows 10 (latest) on both desktops wired by LAN. Using Bit Defender Security on both. Still no access to my HP LaserJet M1319f MFP Printer.

My satellite PC sees the printer but always errors out when printing docs to it !! I'm at the end of my rope with this trouble. Before HomeGroup was disabled after an update it worked fine !!

I thank you for all your suggestions so far but....alas...there has been no resolution to this most irritating problem.

Laptops cannot access desktops via WIFI

I have 3 desktops (all on Windows 10 1803) connected on my LAN. After following this forum for some times and did all the steps as suggested by forum member, access denied, all my desktops are able to view and access one another. I have a printer connected to PC1, and managed to connect all the other 2 PCs to have the shared printer.

I also have 2 more laptops (both Asus with the same Windows 10 1803) connected via WIFI. Performed all the same steps as per the desktops, but I was not able to access PC1. I was able to view all the 3 desktops from the file explorer, but I just can't access all the desktops. However, I was able to access the Asus laptops from desktop PC1.

Anyone able to assist on this matter? Any assistance is highly appreciated.

  3. LAN Printer accessible, but will not print...

Can someone help me with this please...
I have a Samsung LAN printer (model ML2251N) which I have configured with the (static) IP address 192.168.1.103. The

printer is not a wireless printer but is cabled to a wireless router. Using a wireless (Windows 10) laptop, I can access

the LAN printer and use it to print any document using all installed applications. Using this wireless laptop, I can also

access the Samsung print menu using a web brower and inserting the IP address 192.168.1.103. Now here's the thing; I've

also got a new (Windows 10) desktop PC and have cabled its LAN port to the wireless router. On this PC, I can also access

the Samsung printer menu via address 192.168.1.103, and can print a test sheet using the menu. But I can't print anything

using applications on the desktop PC. The document gets sent to the printer queue but an error message appears after some

seconds. The same result occurs if I send a `Print Test Page' using the printer properties window. Using `Troubleshoot' in

the printer context menu returns: `An unexpected error occurred. The troubleshooting wizard can't continue.'
    Any suggestions? Help appreciated.

I still have no access to my printer tethered to another desktop in my house via LAN !

    Win10: LAN + tether = service lockup?

Several months ago, my wife and I moved into our new home; It is brand-new on a street full of new homes. Thus, no cabling on the street for internet yet. I refuse to pay a satellite provider – other than my cell phone service, Verizon – because we should
have cabling down the street by mid-March 2018.

So, what I have done is set up an in-house LAN + Wi-Fi so that we can use our shared Wi-Fi printers etc. I use a Netgear N600 (WNDR3700v3) as a router and Wi-Fi access point with 2 windows 10 desktops hard wired, a couple of iPhones via Wi-Fi, sometimes
a Win 10 and/or a Mac laptop via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi works as intended for local use.

The problem comes in when I tether my iPhone to my primary PC via USB; it’s a hit-or-miss thing. In general, it will work fine. However, at a random time for some random reason while tethered, my PC jumps over to my LAN connection for internet – which it
does not have; and the fun begins. I have discovered that if I disable my Ethernet card before this “switch”, the problem never starts. However, I use my LAN and printers often, so it is also often that I forget it is enabled.

When this first started happening, I figured I could just go disable the Ethernet connection and it would switch back, but that only works sometimes. Typically, it locks up all my networking - on the PC anyway, I haven’t checked externally but I can’t imagine
it would affect it as the router handles the networking. Sometimes it will let me disable the connection – at least visually – and sometimes it just hangs up while trying!

The only recourse is to restart my computer to unlock the network. But it’s not quite that simple either. When I “Restart” or “Shut Down” during this lockup, the PC just sits on
the “Restarting” or “Shutting Down” screen; I have to hard reboot by holding the power button.

This surely isn’t intended behavior, I’m looking for some help solving the issue.

TLDR: When using a USB tether for intenet and having an active LAN without internet access, the PC sometimes randomly jumps to the LAN as an internet access point; this event locks up all networking until a hard restart is performed.

Thanks for any help in advance!
