Windows 10: I stored personal files under an admin account before completing Windows setup. Now I can't...

I think I made a big mistake.


I received a SDD with Windows installed, but it wasn't completely setup. The System Preparation Tool 3.14 popped up and I chose the OOBE. But prior to restarting I installed a bunch of personal software and moved a bunch of files over. I thought my computer was completely set up.


After rebooting I was asked to create a new profile, and then I could not find any of my files. Most software remained, some had to be reinstalled. I entered the admin account but that too initialized Windows. Inside Admin, none of my files were found. So I'm assuming that everything was deleted.


I am at a loss for where these files went. I'm using Power Data Recovery right now and hoping I'll find these items. Still no luck. Anyone know how I can recover these files? Seems as though they were permanently deleted, which would be pretty devastating.

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

Problems in User Account, not appearing in Admin Account (store, sfc)


I have not found anything like my problem on any forum or thread. In my Administrator Account the Windows Store opens and I can install Apps. I expected those same Apps I just installed to appear in my User Account, they did not. Both my Admin and User accounts are Microsoft accounts.

In my User Account my Windows Store will not open (see image 1 below). I tried to use Command Prompt - Admin to run WSReset.exe (see image 2 below).
Then I tried to use a .bat file to re-register Windows Store (guess what? yeah see image 3 below).

I ran SFC /SCANNOW in both my Admin and USER accounts. No problems were found in either account. I noticed SFC ran in less than 30 minutes in my Admin account, but SFC took just over TWO HOURS to run in my User account.

My only idea at this point is to DELETE my User account and reinstall it. I thought I might reach out for other suggestions before doing that.
