Windows 10: I suspect that my laptop has been intruded and remotely accessed

On my 2 months old laptop which has Windows 11 installed, sometimes the cursor would go places and left/right click on its own without my interference. Today, when I booted Microsoft Word up for work, my cursor suddenly moved to the bottom left corner and clicked on the weather tab and expanded it. This made me really creeped out and I quickly turned off my internet connection. I need help with confirming if there is a threat and removal if needed. Thanks beforehand.

Sounds like you are the recipient of stolen goods. All of our work laptops have this feature where it locks the BIOS and hard disk remotely if stolen, misplaced, or after a certain number of failed access attempts to the data on the disk without the TPM key.

I would suggest returning it to wherever you bought or got it.

 

Remote Access

1. Follow these steps to disallow remote access to your PC completely:
2. 1. Type “remote settings” into the Cortana search box. Select “Allow remote access to your computer”. This may seem counter-intuitive, but this opens the Control panel
   dialog for Remote System Properties.
3. 2. Check “Don't Allow Remote Connections” to this Computer. You've now disabled remote access to your computer.

Try these two steps and tell us if your issue gets solved. If it does not then your PC may be infected. Use a Good antivirus to remove the infection from your device completely.

 

Can't access remote laptop desktop

I have a big tower computer with an ASUS mobo, and an ASUS U50f laptop, both machines running Win 10 Creators Pro, and successfully private-networked together wirelessly via a Linksys E1200 modem. I can run remote desktop on the laptop to access & use the tower, but not access the laptop via remote desktop from the tower, even though its Explorer shows the files & folders on the laptop, so networking is going between them. I think I have all the remote desktop settings right on both machines. There seems to be something obscure mis-set on the laptop that's blocking remote desktop from the tower. I see the right rules and turn-ons for address 3386 in the laptop's firewall. Suggestions? Thanks!
