I need to reinstall windows so I can trouble shoot but I don't have a windows installation, I did download it on my phone but it won't flash to my USB through otg cable, I'm just about to say fxck pc, throw that piece of garbage into the basement and just switch back to playing on my console that doesn't make me go through all kind of crap like this just to play one fxcking game properly at minimum 40fps

    UEFI vs Legacy boot mode

Yep, UEFI mode with Win 10 loading I get the Asus logo.

IIRC there maybe an option within motherboard UEFI to disable the Asus logo but not looked into it. On another forum I have read that what logo you get at Win 10 loading is the easiest way to know what bios mode OS is in.

If system is booting in legacy mode - you get Windows Logo.
If system is booting in UEFI mode - you get OEM logo.

Above also applies to Win 8 but not Win 7.

    UEFI vs Legacy boot mode

I just found out I'm running at "Legacy" boot mode.
Are there any downsides running my Skylake system in "Legacy" boot mode?

I don't really want to reinstall windows.
Also I have no problems with my SSD, speeds are as they should be.

Just booting up my system takes some time, maybe it just would be faster booting with UEFI?
My Asus Gaming laptop is booting up faster.
If thats the main difference *Oh Well I switched from legacy mode to uefi through command prompt and now I can't boot :eek:hwell:

command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

I am repairing a laptop for a friend and I need to access windows in safe mode and the owner has forgotten the password to the main user. I tried logging on with the administrator profile in safe mode but it is not showing up so I was going to use command prompt in safe mode with command prompt but command prompt will not open when I boot that option. Does anyone have any hints for me to figure this out?
