I've always been interested in old software. I have an HP Pavilion pc that came preloaded with Windows 11. I downgraded to Windows 10 by downloading the installation ISO from Microsoft, then updated back up to Windows 11. Then I downloaded the Windows 8.1 installation ISO yes, i know its out of support and tried to install by opening setup.exe from the image, rather than create a bootable USB drive. I decided to download it to my PCs C:/ drive, where the original Windows 11 was located. Big mistake. After rebooting, i was greeted with a BIOS menu with the choice to boot into either the Windo

  2. PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??

EDIT : I did what you said and tried without G (second time, didn't take screen shots), same error. I did notice that NTFS Primary 3 (NONE) doesn't have a drive letter associated with it?

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.
