  1. I think I majorly screwed up...help!

A few days ago I purchased a new HDD & a set of RAM to update my (newish) laptop. Now I already had a single drive with Win10 Pro on it, encrypted with bitlocker.

Happily I installed the new RAM & HDD (2nd slot), booted up & verified. All was working great.

Now for the next step, I installed OpenSUSE on the new drive, configed for dual boat, secure boot...& so on. Verified, yup all is peachy! Now let's boot back to Windows so I can start organizing my files as planned and whatnot.

It's asking for the Bitlocker key because of a change in secure boot. Huh?

    Well, shit...

Here's the kicker: when I encrypted the drive, I printed the bitlocker key as PDF and kept it in my documents. That day I was backing up to an external HDD & thought that I moved the PDF to HDD.

Nope, no key. Even worse, the backup on my external HDD is outdated, it does not contain the latest data on it!

So here I am tapping into the hivemind of Reddit, can anyone think up of a solution to unlock or recover my Windows drive?

Tl;dr: stored bitlocker key on c: partition, got locked out & can't decrypt drive.

Thinking about Going back to Win8.1

If want to disable IE, still can. However, can't uninstall it like were able to in XP/98/whatever.
Here's how, although I find it useful in case Chrome or Firefox stops working and have to re-download it. *Wink
    1. Search for turn windows features on or off and click it in the search results.
