Windows 10: i think my camera is hacked

is it possible someone to use your camera to spy you if its not even turned on or he will see only the screen but not what you are doing ?

i'm asking that because before a few months I was watching horror movies and when I paused them to play some games they started again and I was confused how could it happen if I play strong game like "For Honor" and i'm not on the internet browser, later nvidia turned my camera ON when I was playing war thunder and I saw the light from the screen + my face in small window in the right down corner but i'm not sure is anyone able to see me if the camera is not showing its turned on ?

IP cameras as Spambots

What a fucking joke. Some friends were suggesting that I put internet connected cameras in my home to improve security, but I said no for exactly this kind of reason. It would be totally unacceptable for some random hacker over the internet spying on me in my own home by hacking my camera.

Great to see a concrete example of what can happen with them.
