    I think my Hard Drive port broke, or whatever its called


    I ran my laptop through a system test, or whatnot. and it told me my Hard Drive wasn't connected, at the time my pc refused to boot. So I assume that was the issue, I opened the slot, got rid of the dust. But it didn't work. I bought another Hard Drive thinking that was the issue, but it didn't work. So I don't really know what to do, how do I fix it?

    Hard drive turned RAW after changing sata port. Table resotration

    Should I be able to mount usb2 hard drive in usb3 port?

    I hate to have to revive this thread (thought it was solved) but no...

    I have several usb hard drives (all WD Elements 2TB) two of which are usb 2 and two usb 3. The usb 2 drives will NOT mount in the usb 3 port on my computer. The computer does have a usb 2 port (around back where it's hard to reach) so I can use them as needed but these drives SHOULD work in any port.

    If anyone can suggest a solution, step right up! Running Windows 10 20H2. TIA

    My Seagate external hard drive is not detected when plugged in to USB port of my laptop using windows 10?

    Thanks for your response.

    I have tried all the steps provided, however in vain. The external hard drive is not identified at all in any of the the USB ports when connected. The USB ports identify other external Flash drives and devices. However this drive is detected in another laptop
    using Windows 7 OS. Please advise further.
