    I think my motherboard is fried. PLEASE HELP


    This is a follow up to my previous question about my laptop having water spilled on it. If this is related, please check it out. Anyways, after 8 days of my laptop not turning on from the water. I gave up and reassembled it, took out the rice, dried it with a towel and put it to charge. My idea was that the battery had probably been depleted so I need to charge it for the laptop to turn on. I left it to charge for almost 1.5 days straight. I went to turn it on and to my surprise it did. However the display was black, the fan turned on right away, and the Caps Lock button kept blinking.     I'm cautiously optimistic that you haven't fried it. You've removed the battery as has been suggested, which is great. I'd like to also add that you should move the cmos clear link over, as described in the mobo manual. It's not clear from the posts above if you've actually done this bit. If not, it's a very important step to try.
