    I tried to hard stop my computer after not being able to skip sckdsk and on the third try...


    I have had a problem with scan disk getting stuck and read many ways how to try and fix it. I tried to do the hard stop 3 times. But on the third try the computer does nothing. Power light is on but screen never changed. Can I take the CMOS battery out to try and fix this?

    After 8+ hours , it stops and gives the "out of space" message. It is just a file without a name but just sitting in the location of where the backed up file should be.
    I just tried a backup of a hard drive with 740GB which Acronis times to be finished in just over 4-hours. It due that backup, just stopped during the process.
    A suggestion was given that I do a chkdsk /f on my SSD, but ihas been so long that I did that, I looked for a step-by step and could not find it on the web Could you direct me to a location or tell me how to do it?

    The STOP 0x0000007B errors are caused by device driver problems, viruses, data corruption, and sometimes even hardware failures. You have tried update your drivers. If the problem still persist, try the steps:

    • Run chkdsk on your hard drive. ...
    • Perform an extensive test of your hard drive. ...
    • Run the fixmbr command to create a new master boot record. ...
    • Clear the CMOS. ...
    • Update your BIOS. ...
    • Update the hard drive controller's firmware if possible. ...
    • Repair your Windows installation. ...
    • Perform basic STOP error troubleshooting.
