Windows 10: I turned my pc on and its simply a black screen, no bios option, nothing just black

I swapped my HDD out for a new M.2 NVME SSD of course before I swapped the HDD I made a bootable USB drive, after I unplugged the hard drive that had windows on it and installed the NVME and USB drive and turned it on the monitor screen was just black. it never attempted to show the keys to get into the bios, never attempted to load from the USB. but when i plug the HDD back into it the pc works fine, boots into windows but obviously is a bit slow from it only having the HDD.. ive tried reseating the CPU, RAM, GPU, made sure the cables were plugged in properly. I'm clueless to why it won't let
