I typed my wrong email address when I set up my windows account on a new computer and it won't let me change it...it keeps wanted to verify but the verification goes to the wrong email....

Hi there, I have the same problem, and I can't even get to the desktop. I also don't have a local account option. The only option showing is my account, with the wrong email address showing. Please help, thanks

Are you able to sign-in and boot to the desktop screen?

If yes, you may switch your Microsoft account to local account by following the below steps.

1. Click Start and then Settings.

2. Click Accounts and Sign in with a local account instead.

3. Enter your Microsoft account's(wrong email address) password, and click on Next.

4. Type in a Username, Password, and Password Hint that you want to set for your Local account and click next. Click on Sign out and Finish button.

Now login to the new user account and follow the below article to switch back to Microsoft account by entering the correct email address.

Changing administrator email address

1) How do you access the Windows computer? Do you use Microsoft account or local account?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• 
  Open PC settings, and click/tap on Accounts on the left side.
  
• 
  Click/tap on your account on the right side, click/tap on the More account settings online link at the top of the right side.
  
• 
  If this PC or device is not a trusted device, then you will be prompted to enter and submit a security code sent to your phone or alternate email address.
  
• 
  In Internet Explorer, or your default web browser, click/tap on the Add or change aliases link under Account aliases.
  
• 
  Click/tap on Rename under your (primary alias).
  
• 
  Click/tap on Yes, rename my primary alias.
  
• 
  Sign in to your Microsoft account with your new email address and password. You can close the web browser when finished.
  
• 
  To Create a New Email Address to Use as your Primary Alias

    Select (dot) Create a new email address as your primary alias.
    
  • 
    Select if you want a new hotmail.com, live.com, or outlook.com address.
    
  • 
    Type in a name you want, click/tap on Rename primary alias
    

9. Click/tap on OK.
